Very nice people. Treat your animals great! Would recommend this office along with foothills in boonville. Dr. Pauly is my favorite vet! When I had to put my 2 dogs down he have us as much time as we needed, and during the 2nd one he stayed in the room with us. He is the only vet my dogs will see. He truly cares about the animals and humans as well.
Sadly, months later it became apparent that the cancer had grown inside where it could not be removed and his quality of life began to suffer. The staff was kind and offers for you to be with your pet in their last moments. They had a blanket and pad for him to be comfortable and they also allowed him to use/ stay with his favorite blanket we brought with us for his cremation. Afterwards you leave from a separate exit so you don't have to go through the lobby. We received a condolence card in the mail and a note saying a donation had been made in Reese's name to help other animals in need. When/if we are ever ready for another pet we will be bringing them to Countryside from the start.
My dog Reese's was found to have a tumor twice the size of a grape in his throat by my original veterinarian, but they couldn't do the surgery to remove it. I called 3 other local offices and no one was willing/able to remove this sudden growth in my 13 year old terriers throat. They were friendly and polite to both Reese's and I while also managing expectations for his surgery. The procedure was successful and he was back to his regular self thanks to their effort/skill. Months later a couple small tumors of his side and belly showed (1-2mm) and I had them removed to hopefully stop the cancer from growing or hurting his quality of life. They once again did a wonderful job with Reese's and his high energy personality.
All this place cares about is money. I've been here on numerous occasions and never felt any of the vets hearts were in it no compassion. I went one time because my cat was acting unusual and when urinating his tail would go straight up and start quivering and he'd meow like in pain. Got an appt 2 days later and it was so unprofessional. First the vet came out into the waiting room, never directed us to an examination room just started right there in the waiting room, weighed him said to me the cat's fat and overweight, told me to buy their dry cat food and give the cat 1/4 cup of food once in morning once at night. Im thinking poor thing is gonna starve. That was It! Never went into a room, never examined him or tried to get a urine sample or blood for tests. I stood there for a minute dumbfounded, when the receptionist says that'll be $100 something dollars. I snapped out of it pretty quick and said excuse me? The bag of food was $40 something and the rest she said was office visit. I said he came out to the waiting room we didn't even go in a room and he did nothing but tell me my cat is fat! We argued for about 5 Minutes I finished w saying "it's a shame you're the only vet around here cause you're thieves" gave her the money took the $40 bag of cat food and stomped out of there. What a waste, I had busted my butt for hours and days for that money and this place looks at my cat weighs him tells me he's fat the whole thing didn't last over 5 Minutes and they charged me that? Wow! They get that for 10 Minutes when it took me almost 2 days to earn it. I wish someone else would open a vet place and put countryside out of business. Small town like this I see favoritism every time I walk in there. I've seen them give people discounts that coulda afforded it then us middle class struggling they want to charge the maximum they can. What goes around comes around countryside..... What goes around comes around. Shame on you
I would like to clarify that this was an after-hours emergency line related exchange and involved the answering service representative ONLY. I did not speak with a tech or doctor. All other experiences with the office itself have always been exemplary and I think that had I been able to talk to one of the regular staff, I would have gotten a much kinder conversation, even if the information was the same.
These people take great care of your pets. A little pricey though.
My husband and I were clients of Countryside Vet Clinic for the 3 years we were in New York and we were always incredibly happy with the staff, service and facilities. We trusted our pets with them completely. We were very sorry to leave them when we moved with the army to South Korea. However, one experience has tainted the excellent opinion I have held of them. In Korea, the language barrier is already incredibly frustrating. Add an emergency and it is downright terrifying. Our dog ate a bottle of supplement pills on a Sunday afternoon here and we wanted to speak with an English-speaking vet to figure out if we needed to take our dog to an emergency clinic. When I called the after-hours number for advice and explained our situation, I was told by the operator that because we were no longer clients, they would not be able to give me medical advice because I wouldn’t be able to be billed for it. I asked her if there was anything that could be done, and was offered the number to an emergency animal hospital then disconnected (whether hung up on, I do not know). The operator was very short with me and seemed annoyed at me for even calling. I completely understand not being able to service us as we are no longer clients, let alone in the country and appreciated being given an alternative, but the entire exchange put an incredibly bad taste in my mouth toward the facility. I thought it was a terribly unprofessional exchange in what was an emergency situation and very much upset me. Thankfully, we got ahold of a vet that was able to help advise us on what we needed to do and our dog will be ok.
